ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – This weekend, dozens attended the Scandinavian Festival, celebrating all things related to Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, and Sweden. The festival was organized by the Rosemalers of New Mexico and the Scandinavian Club of Albuquerque.
Event coordinators say the main purpose of this weekend's event is to celebrate Yulebook, the beginning of a Scandinavian Christmas tradition. "It's a place where people can come and buy Christmas gifts of Scandinavian design, and it's a chance to mingle with other Scandinavians and generally have a good time," says Hal Nilsson, chair of the Scandinavian Club of Albuquerque.
Guests enjoyed Swedish meatballs, limpa bread, and Nordic pastries.
