RAWLINS -- The eighth-seeded Rawlins Outlaws went 1-2 in the 3A East regional volleyball tournament, which they hosted this past weekend.
The Outlaws opened tournament play with a match against the No. 1 Douglas Bearcats. In each set, Rawlins scored more than they did in the one before, but still fell in a three-set sweep. Douglas downed them 25-14, 25-16 and 25-18.
Rawlins returned to the court the next day and battled the No. 5 Glenrock Herders. The Outlaws rallied to eliminate their opponents in a four-set victory. They fell in the first set 25-14, but fought back to win the next three 27-25, 25-17 and 25-21.
They were one game away from qualifying for the state tournament before the Outlaws were handed a defeat by the No. 3 Newcastle Dogies. Rawlins suffered another sweep, this time
