RAWLINS -- For the fourth consecutive year, the Rawlins Outlaw Stampede Marching Band earned an Excellent rating at the Wyoming State Marching Band Festival.
This year, the Stampede Marching Band's big performance was titled "The Music of ABBA" and featured the songs "I Have a Dream," "Mamma Mia," "Winner Takes it all" and "Dancing Queen."
"Choosing a show theme each year is a fun and collaborative process. It usually starts with lots of suggestions from the students and then some research on my part to find something that’s engaging, achievable and fun," Rawlins Director of Bands Andrew Salzman said.
"Not every piece ends up being every student’s favorite—if you ask them, they’ll tell you!—but they buy in, give it their best and often find something they come to love in the process."
