SAN DIEGO — San Diego State did everything it could to hand the University of Wyoming a win Saturday night.
The Aztecs punted on four consecutive drives with a 10-point lead during the second half, including three straight three-and-outs. That was preceded by a missed chip-shot field goal by one of the best special teams players in the country.
The Cowboys never capitalized on SDSU's dares for them to score. They fell 24-7 after surrendering 24 unanswered points in front of a lackluster homecoming crowd at Snapdragon Stadium.
The loss dropped the Cowboys to 4-5 overall and 2-3 in the Mountain West, while the Aztecs continue to control their own destiny at 7-1 and 4-0.
