Hosts India won their maiden ICC Women’s World Cup title with a convincing 52-runs win over South Africa at the Dr DY Patil Stadium

Laura Wolvaardt’s wicket proved to be the decisive moment. The South African captain was anchoring the chase brilliantly, as she smashed a superb century while keeping her team in the hunt. Even as India continued to strike at the other end, Wolvaardt looked determined to carry the fight and refused to let the game slip away.
