SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 Sports) - After winning seven straight games, the Utah Mammoth have now lost two in a row, suffering its first home defeat of the season to the Tampa Bay Lightning Sunday, 4-2.
Jake Guentzel broke a tie midway through the third period and had an assist, and the Tampa Bay Lightning won their fifth straight game.
Guentzel put Tampa Bay ahead 3-2 at 12:06 of the third, skating the puck out from behind the net and beating goalie Karel Vejmelka blocker side.
“[It was] just a good draw by [Anthony Cirelli] and [Brayden Point] going to the net there to open up some space and I just tried to throw it on net and catch them off guard.” Guentzel said. “You take [the wins] as they come, and you move on, and it's a big win for us.”
