COLUMBIA, S.C. — After a mostly cloudy Sunday, the Midlands can look forward to more sunshine and warmer temperatures this week.

Overnight tonight, skies will stay partly cloudy with light winds. Temperatures will fall into the low to mid 40s by early Monday morning.

A stray shower or two and areas of patchy fog may impact Monday morning commuters, thanks to a weak frontal boundary currently over South Carolina. Despite a little bit of a dreary start to the day, Monday will stay mostly dry. Sunshine is expected to return by the afternoon as temperatures climb into the upper 60s after the front moves east. Monday night, low temperatures will fall into the low to mid 40s.
