The only person to survive a plane crash which claimed 241 lives has described it as a "miracle" he is still alive, though the loss of his brother "took all my happiness".

Nearly four months after the Air India disaster in Ahmedabad, British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh told the PA news agency he continues to experience "flashbacks" from the tragedy.

The 39-year-old said whilst he considers his survival a "miracle", the death of his brother Ajay, who was travelling on the same aircraft, means his family has "lost everything". Mr Ramesh, who lives in Leicester, said discussing the crash remains "very painful", with his advisers revealing he has yet to speak about what happened with his immediate family.
