An Australian man’s work ute has been totalled by a bolt of lightning that struck the tray before the cab exploded into flames.
Jason Stolzenberth was inside his Upper Coomera home on the Gold Coast on Sunday night when his family heard a large crack.

“(It was) a massive bang and then all of a sudden the car horn’s gone off,” he told 7NEWS.
“And then (I came out) and the lights are on.”
Stolzenberg said he could smell the wiring in his ute burning.
Neighbours used garden hoses to battle the flames until firefighters arrived to finish the job.
His ute has been dubbed Lightning McQueen, after Disney’s famous red racing car.
“Time to buy a Lotto ticket. One in a million event,” Stolzenberg said.
