SEBASTIAN COUNTY, Arkansas — The owner of a retirement facility in Sebastian County, Arkansas, was arrested Thursday after allegedly failing to complete her duties as a mandated reporter in connection with a rape accusation.

The Barling Police Department (BPD) told 5NEWS that 74-year-old Linda Short was arrested on Oct. 30 for one count of failure to report adult maltreatment, a Class B misdemeanor.

BPD said that officers were investigating a rape at Sebastian County Retirement Center when they opened a secondary investigation into failure to report the allegations to appropriate agencies.
