NEW YORK (PIX11) – Golden raisins from a Bronx food company have been recalled for undeclared sulfites, which could cause severe reactions in those who are allergic, according to the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.

State officials said the recalled product, Tara Food Golden Raisins, is sold in 14-ounce clear packages with a UPC Code of 8247931229 and a best by date of June 30, 2026. The raisins were sold in various New York City retailers.

No illnesses have been reported connected to the raisins, according to officials. Testing from state officials revealed the raisins had high levels of sulfites, which could cause anaphylactic shock in people with asthma and other sensitivities.
