HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Eight people were displaced after a fire at a multifamily home Monday morning on Putnam Street in Hartford, according to fire officials.

Crews responded to the fire around 1:19 a.m. at a two-story brick multifamily home in the Frog Hollow neighborhood, fire officials said.

At the scene, crews saw a fire on the first floor, rear bedroom that extended into the kitchen.

Fire officials said two people on the second floor were "safely removed" from the building.

According to fire officials, two families were displaced, including three children. The Hartford Fire Department’s Special Services Unit and the American Red Cross are helping the people who were displaced.

No injuries were reported.
