SHELTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree sexual assault and other charges after police said he forced himself on a woman in Shelton on Friday.

According to the Shelton Police Department, officers went to an apartment building on Long Hill Avenue near Shelton Avenue on Friday in response to a 911 hang-up call. When they got to the scene, a naked woman ran outside of the building.

The woman told the officers that 23-year-old Sean Senerchia of Shelton forced himself on her sexually inside of an apartment. Officers went inside the apartment and encountered Senerchia, who was confrontational with the officers before being arrested.
