Brett Beasley, whose son Jack was killed in a stabbing attack on the Gold Coast in 2019, is taking "Jack's Law' to the UK.

Beasley, together with his wife Belinda, successfully campaigned for the anti-knife legislation, which grants police expanded powers to conduct weapon searches without a warrant, after 17-year-old Jack was killed in the random, senseless attack.

First introduced in Queensland, it's now in place across much of the country, with the exception of Victoria and South Australia.

Beasley is set to meet with UK politicians just days after 11 people were hospitalised following a mass stabbing attack in Cambridge .

Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate said the legislation "sends the right signal".

"To be able to take this to the other side of the world, it will save more lives
