TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Bathrooms at transit centers across Tucson will be closed after hours. Sun Tran said it was the option that made sense for the hours they provide service, others say it’s for another reason.
Darlene Boonie goes by Hot Wheels to her other neighbors living in the wash next door to the Tohono Tadai Transit Center. Her only bathrooms are the ones at the bus stop.
“The restaurants around here have bathrooms but you’ve got to buy something in the restaurant,” Boonie said.
Now, those restrooms have signs telling her between the hours of midnight and four in the morning, she can’t use them.
She says she knows why.
“People use fentanyl in the bathrooms out here, you know,” Boonie said. “That’s why they haven’t got them open, because they’re abusing them and they shoul
