Newfoundland Power has traced a power outage on the Bonavista Peninsula back to suspected vandalism at a substation in Lethbridge.
The outage affected 1,861 customers in the Lethbridge area on Monday morning, starting around 2 a.m. NT.
Newfoundland Power spokesperson Glenda Power told CBC Radio's _Newfoundland Morning_ that repairs were underway, with restoration of power expected by noon.
"We've made a report to the RCMP concerning that vandalism and we expect that a news release will come out with a little more information today," Power said.
