Police have identified a suspect in a hit-and-run crash in Waterbury last month that killed a pedestrian.
Investigators allege that 24-year-old Jesus Gavidia-Vivas of Waterbury was driving the vehicle that struck a 74-year-old man in the area of 835 Wolcott St. on Oct. 22 at 10:19 p.m., according to Sgt. Joseph Morais of the Waterbury Police Department . He has not been charged.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified, died from his injuries the next day, Morais said.
Officers responded to the area of the crash after receiving the report that someone was down in the road, according to Morais. Police then determined that the injured man had been the victim of a hit-and-run collision.
The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for life-threatening injuries. He
