Classroom complexity and class sizes were some of the biggest issues cited by the Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) during its negotiations with the province.

On Monday, when Premier Danielle Smith announced her government would be passing legislation forcing 51,000 teachers back-to-work and imposing a four-year collective contract backed by the use of the notwithstanding clause — she promised to form a class size and complexity task force.
