LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (PIX11) – A driver has been found guilty in a Fourth of July crash that killed four people, including a mother and son, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced.
Daniel Hyden, 46, was convicted on Monday of ramming his pickup truck into a crowd celebrating the holiday last year. Hyden was drunk and didn’t hit his brakes until one-half second before the crash, according to Bragg.
“Family and friends were enjoying a Fourth of July [barbecue] in Corlears Hook Park before their lives were drastically and tragically changed forever. Daniel Hyden was intoxicated when he drove through a fence, killing Lucille Pinkney, Herman Pinkney, Ana Morel, and Emily Ruiz, as well as injuring seven others,” Bragg
