LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - A father and son have been arrested and charged in connection with the deaths of two dogs in LaPorte County.
58-year-old John Lowe is facing two felony charges of killing a domestic animal and one felony charge of obstruction of justice while 22-year-old Hayden Lowe is facing one felony charge of obstruction of justice.
Police say a pet owner who lives off County Road 150 North reported on Oct. 21 that she had found her beagle deceased on a nearby property. The beagle had suffered a fatal injury to the rib cage area.
According to police, her other K-9 — a chocolate labrador — was still missing.
Detectives say they interviewed a hunter, which led them to learning that John Lowe was not only responsible for the death of the beagle, but also the death of the
