More illnesses and deaths linked to a deadly listeria outbreak were reported in October, with ready-to-eat pasta meals recalled across multiple groceries stores as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continues to investigate.

The listeria outbreak, linked to certain pasta salads and ready-made meals that contained pre-cooked pasta, began earlier this year. Since the latest CDC update in September, seven more people have been sickened across Washington; Oregon; California; Texas; Nevada; Utah; Minnesota; Missouri; Illinois; Louisiana; Indiana; Michigan; Ohio; Virginia; North Carolina; South Carolina and Florida, bringing the total number of people sickened to 27.
