A suburban Melrose Park family demanded answers after a man was taken into custody by federal immigration agents and later hospitalized following that arrest.
Loved ones told NBC Chicago Ricardo Rodriguez was detained while riding his bike home from the grocery store - and on Monday, the Department of Homeland Security released its side of the story.
Rodriguez's family stated the father of two was released from Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and placed into the custody of federal immigration agents. Relatives said video showed him being detained by federal agents on Sunday in Melrose Park.
