American combat units have already started training for a mission inside Mexico that would -- literally -- put boots on the ground there.

It would be an offensive operation targeting Mexico’s lawless drug cartels and leadership.

The Pentagon's biggest bulls eye would be on Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes - a druglord known as El Mencho, who also happens to be Chicago’s Public Enemy No. 1.

Special operations teams are already training for the Mexico assault, in conjunction with the CIA according to law enforcement sources, who say the plans are not yet fully formed.

Since President Trump declared drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations earlier this year, the door was opened to more aggressive tools-including use of the military.
