(WTAJ) — The high school football playoffs kicked off with a bang across Central Pennsylvania, and two standout performances made sure everyone took notice.

Berlin sophomore Carter Durst and Huntingdon’s Javaughn Dodson headline this week’s Sportsbeat honors after helping their teams secure statement victories to open postseason play.

Durst earns Player of the Week after shredding Everett’s defense for more than 250 rushing yards and three touchdowns, leading the Mountaineers to a 34-7 win over the Warriors. The breakout sophomore’s performance helped Berlin advance deeper into the playoff bracket and set the tone for what could be a dominant postseason run.
