EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Don Mattingly has another chance to get into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
The Yankee all-star and Evansville-native is one of eight players that are on the 2026 Contemporary Baseball Era ballot. Results of the ballot will be announced on December 7th at 6:30PM.
The other seven players on the ballot includes:
- Barry Bonds
- Roger Clemens
- Carlos Delgado
- Jeff Kent
- Dale Murphy
- Gary Sheffield
- Fernando Valenzuela
Mattingly played 14 seasons with the Yankees, earning six All-Star Game selections, nine Gold Glove Awards and the 1985 American League Most Valuable Player award.
In addition to his playing career, Mattingly has managed 12 seasons for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Miami Marlins. He was named the 2020 National League Manager
