Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a call in which a crossover SUV had left the roadway and rolled, coming to rest on its side. Firefighters found one occupant trapped inside the vehicle, Fire Rescue reported.

Rescue personnel stabilized the SUV to prevent further movement and began extrication using rescue tools, referred to as the “Jaws of Life,” WFR reported. South Shore assisted with extrication and pulled a hose line to protect the person as the vehicle was smoking as well.

The person pulled from the vehicle was safely extricated after several minutes of coordinated effort and was transferred to a waiting ambulance for medical evaluation and transport, WFR reported. The person’s condition is not being released at this time.

Watertown Fire Rescue responded with Engine 4 and Medic 4.
