AUSTIN, Texas — Water service was restored Tuesday afternoon in southeast Austin after crews repaired a water main break that started Monday morning, Austin Water officials said.
The 8-inch water main broke near 1725 E. Riverside Drive, disrupting water service to nearby businesses and residents. Austin Water reported that all affected customers now have service restored.
Austin police closed eastbound lanes of East Riverside Drive at South Lakeshore Boulevard around 11 a.m. Monday due to the break. Traffic detours remain in effect while the worksite is backfilled and cleaned.
Nearby properties, including AMLI South Shore Apartments, have been notified that the repairs are complete.
