SPRINGFIELD, Mas. (WWLP) - A man from Springfield faces several firearm charges after police found him allegedly smoking marijuana in public.
In a news release by the Springfield Police Department, officers were patrolling the area of Fort Pleasant Avenue on foot at around 10 a.m. on Sunday when they observed a man loitering and smoking a marijuana cigarette (joint).
When they approached the suspect to inform him that smoking marijuana in public is a city ordinance violation, they located a loaded firearm in his fanny pack.
Police arrested 27-year-old Jahleo Paquin of Springfield on the following charges: • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License • Carrying a Firearm without a License • Loitering - Ordinance Violation • Consuming Marijuana in a Public Place - Ordinance Viola
