ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The remains of Army Air Corps Staff Sgt. John A. Pagliuso is returning home this week for a procession and funeral.
Staff Sgt. Pagliuso was killed in action around October 1942 during a bombing run over Papua New Guinea. The crash site was found two years later, and his remains went unidentified until March 17, 2025.
His funeral will be on Friday, but his remains will be flown into the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport. He will be transported to Boeheim-Pusateri Funeral Home in Lyons along the following route: • Airport Road onto I-390 South • Take NY-104 to NY-88 South in Sodus • Continue into Arcadia • Turn left onto NY-31 East / East Union Street • Turn left onto NY-14 North / Geneva Street • Turn left onto Canal Street •
