HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - The Archdiocese of Hartford directed $500,000 in emergency funding to food banks in Hartford, Litchfield, and New Haven counties to help address any shortfalls experienced from the government shutdown.
Archbishop Christopher Coyne said on Monday that the money came from the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal.
Coyne said the emergency funds are in addition to the funding that is regularly distributed from the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal to the food banks.
“The Catholic Church provides relief and hope for God’s children.
