A man was taken into custody after a joint operation with the U.S. Secret Service and a SWAT team in Lake County Monday.

According to a spokesperson for the Secret Service, the agency was operating on a “protective intelligence investigation” in Winthrop Harbor on Monday.

The agency called it an “active investigation” in a statement, and said it could not disclose more information.

According to the Lake County Sherriff’s Office, the Secret Service requested a SWAT team to participate in the execution of a search warrant and an arrest warrant in the case. That search was undertaken at a residence in the 2800 block of 15th Street, officials said.
