FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — Massachusetts State Police are searching for the driver who struck and seriously injured a construction worker on I-95 in Foxboro overnight.
Troopers responded to the scene near mile marker 15.5 around 2:15 a.m. Monday.
A tourniquet had to be applied to the construction worker's lower leg, state police said, but he's expected to survive.
State police said they recovered a passenger-side mirror from the suspect vehicle.
"The Massachusetts State Police offers the victim and his family our deepest sympathy in the aftermath of this senseless crash," police said in a press release. "Although he is expected to live, the impact of his injuries illustrates the danger of failing to drive with care in and around work zones."
