SIKESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - The annual winter trout fishing program is underway as crews stock a lake in Sikeston, Missouri.
The lake at the Sikeston Recreation Complex was stocked with trout on Monday morning, November 3.
According to the city of Sikeston, Salvador Mondragon, fisheries management biologist with the Missouri Department of Conservation, said 2,240 trout were added to the lake.
They say anglers can cast a line for the trout through the fall and winter months on a catch-and-release basis only. Anglers may begin to harvest trout starting on February 1.
