KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A sideshow Friday night damaged a newly renovated intersection in Kansas City’s Waldo neighborhood, destroying permanent street markings that were part of a $14 million project.

The incident occurred at 75th and Wornall around midnight on Friday.

According to the Kansas City Police Department , the first 911 call came in around 12:15 a.m. Officers arrived at the intersection just before 12:40 a.m. and used a police helicopter and stop sticks to break up the event. No arrests have been made.

Councilman Johnathan Duncan, who represents the 6th District, said he was disappointed by the damage.

“I’m devastated. It was heartbreaking to see that,” Duncan said. “To the people who participated in this one, you should be ashamed of yourself.”
