KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Two arrests were made during a countywide sweep of registered sex offenders on Halloween.

The Jackson County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office says that on Friday, Oct. 31, it conducted a countywide sweep to ensure registered sex offenders do not come in contact with children.

By law, registered sex offenders are required to refrain from all Halloween-related contact with children. They are to remain inside their homes between 5 and 10:30 p.m. as outdoor lighting is turned off.

As such, the Sheriff’s Office said the Jackson County Sex Offender Registration Enforcement Unit conducted a countywide compliance sweep.
