TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) -- Alabama head football coach Kalen DeBoer announced Monday that defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. is suspended indefinitely following his arrest over the weekend.

Kirkpatrick was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of attempting to elude and speeding. He was released from the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $1,500 bond.

"Unfortunately, with the information that I have at this time, talked to Dre, and we need to indefinitely suspend him," DeBoer said. "He understands there's consequences that comes with his actions."

Kirkpatrick Jr. is the son of former Alabama cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, who played for Alabama from 2009-11. Alabama hosts LSU at 6:30 p.m. Saturday on ABC.
