MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) - A man was arrested last week after authorities said he started a fire and sent threatening text to his wife.
According to the McDowell County Sheriff's Office, on October 27, deputies were called to the scene of a structure fire regarding a male subject walking away from the fire. Deputies reportedly stopped Nathan Bartlett, of Marion, nearby.
After an investigation, the sheriff's office determined Bartlett had started the fire after an argument with his wife. Deputies said as part of the argument he sent video footage and threatening texts to his wife, confirming he started the fire.
Bartlett is being held in the McDowell County Jail without bond.
