COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina State Guard will begin leading food distribution operations this week to help families impacted by the federal government shutdown and the halt of new Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.

Deployment schedules show that operations will run November 5–7 and November 10–14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at two Harvest of Hope Food Bank locations in the state’s two largest metro areas: Columbia and Greenville.

The mission follows Governor Henry McMaster’s recent directive activating the State Guard to support statewide food bank operations as SNAP dollars stopped flowing November 1.

Distribution points will be open daily during the activation windows at the following locations:

Harvest of Hope – Columbia

2220 Shop Rd., Columbia, SC 2920
