UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- With the government heading into its second month of shutdown, Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente has announced extended hours for those recipients affected by the loss of SNAP Benefits.
“Over 36,000 of our residents rely on SNAP to feed their families,” Picente said in a statement released on Monday, November 3. “Any interruption to those benefits causes unnecessary upheaval in their lives and Oneida County Government is here to assist them through this ordeal in any we can.”
Picente announced that the County's Department of Family and Community Services will be open extended hours beginning on Tuesday, November 4. The office will now be open from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday.
