St. Clairsville, OH (WTRF) — A Barnesville man has been charged with operating a vehicle while impaired for the eleventh time, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Douglas R. Johnston, 49, was involved in a crash on Township Road 89 in Wayne Township, Belmont County, at 11:57 p.m. on November 1, 2025.
Troopers who responded to the crash said they observed signs of impairment. Johnston was arrested at the scene for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
In addition to the OVI charge, Johnston is facing charges for failure to control, driving under suspension, and operating a vehicle while impaired.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol urges the public to report impaired drivers or suspected drug activity by calling #677 or 911.
