CAMDEN – The Trump Administration said today it will comply with a federal court order and partially fund the SNAP food benefit program during the government shutdown, according to the Associated Press, which is providing live updates today.

“It’s not clear how much beneficiaries will receive, nor how quickly beneficiaries will see value show up on the debit cards they use to buy groceries,” according to the report by AP reporter Geoff Mulvihill.

Benefits were to have shown up in the accounts of 826,094 SNAP recipients on Saturday in New Jersey, part of the 41.7 million individuals nationally who get the food assistance, which used to be called food stamps.

In New Jersey, the largest number of recipients are in Essex, Hudson, Passaic, Camden and Ocean counties respectively, according to
