CAMDEN – Sometimes it's just plastic forks, knives and spoons, or maybe also several plastic packets of soy sauce. At times, it may include single servings of relish or special sauce.

When you get home with the take-out food and pull it all from the bag, you'll often find those plastic surprises settled on the bottom.

Now the city may join the more than two dozen New Jersey governments that endorse a “Skip the Stuff” law that prohibits restaurants from routinely tossing single-use food service items – particularly plastic utensils – into a customer's take-out bag without the customer's request.

“Skip the Stuff” is aimed at reducing the amount of plastic sent into the environment, often polluting waterways and endangering wildlife.
