NEWARK - Lines of families and their children, holding empty shopping bags and carts, wrapped around the block outside West Side Park Community Center on Friday waiting to pick up bread, eggs, meat and canned goods provided by the Newark-based nonprofit United Community Corporation (UCC).
Some were pleasantly surprised to see Gov.-elect Mikie Sherrill, who grinned ear to ear as she waved to those in line.
