NEWARK – William F. Tate IV’s inauguration ceremony address Friday spanned the lakes of LSU to Cook Campus’ Passion Puddle, by way of the Chicago River. And even if it momentarily meandered like the old Raritan (River), it often circled back to one word: opportunity.

So, the Chicago-born, LSU-honed 22nd president of Rutgers unveiled The Edge Fund for scholarships to celebrate and support the next generation of thinkers and creators who achieve innovations in the arts, sports, science and technology.
