A person was seriously injured after an SUV crashed into a house near a Sarnia elementary school Friday morning.

“The vehicle occupant is currently at hospital with serious injuries,” Sarnia police posted on social media around 8:30 a.m.

A black Ford Escape crashed into a house at 680 Kember Ave. The intersection of Kember Avenue and Maxwell Street, which is near High Park elementary school, was closed.

There is a stop sign for vehicles heading east on Maxwell Street, while motorists driving on Kember Avenue have the right of way.

Police added they would issue an update when it’s available.
