The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office has charged four people in connection with the recent seizure of 20 dogs in Edinburg.
Tamara Renee Braithwaite, Thomas James Braithwaite, Nancy Lynn Cronk and Stephen Lee Cronk have each been charged with five counts of animal cruelty, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Each individual was issued a summons to appear in Shenandoah County General District Court on Dec. 12.
Animal control officers aided investigators on Oct. 21 in conducting a welfare check on individuals at a residence on Wolf Gap Road. A recreational vehicle and a camper were on the property. Officers seized 20 dogs from the property given the “poor living conditions,” according to the Sheriff’s Office. The owners surrendered the animals to law enforcement.
