Linganore's undefeated football team is one of three No. 1 seeds in the county and one of two local squads to receive first-round byes for the MPSSAA regional playoffs, which begin this week, according to brackets released Monday.

The Lancers (9-0) and second-seeded Oakdale (7-2) each earned the week off in the Class 3A West region. Linganore hosts a second-round game next week against either No. 4 North Hagerstown or No. 5 Northwood. The Bears host a second-round game next week against either No. 3 Damascus or No. 6 Rockville.
