McCOOK, Neb. (WOWT) - Gov. Jim Pillen said Monday that ICE detainees are expected to arrive at the former Work Ethic Camp in McCook this week.

“Everything has been, uh, approved and processed,” the governor said while answering questions at the end of a news conference Monday afternoon when he announced the state was getting a new treasurer .

Pillen the governor said there will be up to 200 detainees housed there in the next two to three weeks as part of “Phase 1″ of the Department of Homeland Security plans for the facility. While “Phase 2″ doesn’t have a definite timeline, the governor said that would likely happen by the end of the year.

Officials have previously said the detention center will be able to house 300 detainees. The McCook facility, located about four hours southwest
