CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Amid the ongoing government shutdown, families are facing difficult decisions, and their beloved pets are often caught in the crisis. However, a compassionate local business in West Park is providing a much-needed lifeline.

Pam Alerine, owner of Style Mutt Dog Boutique and Daycare, has been inundated with calls since announcing a special program on social media. She’s offering free dog food and treats to West Park dog owners who are receiving SNAP benefits.

“There are so many dogs being surrendered now because of the financial difficulties people can’t handle their dogs anymore,” Alerine explains, highlighting the urgency of the situation. “So we just try to get involved in the community as much as we can.”
