SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Day 34 of the government shutdown continues to affect airports across the country with staffing shortages and flight delays, but Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport reports minimal direct impact.
Paul Hoback Jr., new president and CEO of SRQ, said the airport is not seeing problems locally despite system-wide impacts.
“There’s a system-wide impact, and it is having a ripple effect on us here at SRQ. Fortunately, we aren’t seeing any problems locally,” Hoback said. “The couple of things that impact us here is when there’s delays, when there’s cancellations across the industry because of other towers that are having issues.”
